We Gotta Wear Shades!!!
This Thanksgiving, we made Turkey Jars of Thanks. Before you eat your Thanksgiving meal, have everyone write down what they are thankful for on a piece of paper. Put all of the papers in the jar. Each person pulls a paper out, reads it, and then guesses who wrote it. Happy Thanksgiving!
As legend goes, Johnny Appleseed would travel the country planting apples wherever he went. To celebrate his birthday and to acknowledge his love for apples, we made Crock Pot Apple Cobbler. The kids had a great time cooking and an even better time eating the delicious treat!
Here is the recipe so you can try it at home:
1 bag of apples, peeled and sliced
2 cups of apple juice
1/4 cup uncooked oatmeal (we used 2 packets of maple flavor)
1 box vanilla cake mix
Place apples in the crock pot with a sprinkling of cinnamon and apple juice. Layer the cake mix and the oatmeal on top of the apples. Do not mix it all together. Place a few small dollops of butter on top.
Cook on high for 2 hours or slow for 4 hours.
Serve and enjoy with ice cream or whip cream.
